Eddie Adams has joined the Missouri University Delta Research Center as a specialist in testing crop varieties He will evaluate new crop varieties and management strategies.

He will concentrate primarily on corn, soybeans and grain sorghum.

Adams is a graduate of Murray State University, receiving his bachelor of science degree in agronomy. He worked for seven years as a field inspector for the Kentucky Seed Improvement Association. He also worked at a cattle operation that specialized in grass-fed beef.

UM agronomist Bill Wiebold will work closely with Adams.

"We have 15 locations in Southeast Missouri that we use for variety testing," Wiebold said. "Adams will manage those. He'll plant them, take care of them and harvest them."

Adams will also test new soybean varieties developed by breeders at the Delta Center, Wiebold said.
