Dr. Charles G. Stalon, of Cape Girardeau, a former commissioner of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), has been named to the Georgia Transmission Corporation Board of Directors.
GTE was one of two companies formed in the 1997 restructuring of Oglethorpe Power Corp.
Stalon is one of four outside directors serving on the 11-member GTE board. He was a former Michigan State University professor of economics and served on FERC board from 1984-1989,
Stalon, who has a Masters and Ph.D in economics from Purdue University, is a consultant on energy regulations. He serves on the board of directors of the ISO New England, Inc.; California Power Exchange Market Monitoring Committee; Advisory Council, Gas Research Institute; Future of NERC Review Team and NERC Review Team Governance Task Force.
He is a native of Cape Girardeau and continues to make his home here.
