BUSINESS PERSONNEL: DRIVING CHAMPION

Steve Burns of St. Louis, a driver for Schnucks Markets Inc., has won the grand championship in the 2000 Missouri Truck Driving Championships.

Burns received the "Grand Trophy" and the chance to compete in the American Trucking Association's National Truck Driving Championships in New Orleans in August.

Winners were determined in nine classes, plus the overall championship.

Burns was also winner of the "Pre-trip Inspection" award for highest score in assuring that a vehicle was in safe and efficient operation condition before leaving on a trip.

Winners were determined by personal interview, written examination, vehicle safety inspection and a field course featuring six precision driving tests.
