Michele Peters, a speech pathologist at Southeast Missouri Hospital's Outpatient Rehabilitation Services, recently attended a workshop on "Cochlear Implants in Children: Rehabilitative Techniques" at Central Institute for the Deaf in St. Louis.
A cochlear implant is an electronic device that provides hearing for adults and children with profound hearing loss.
Peters holds a master's degree in speech pathology from Southeast Missouri State University. She is a member of the American Speech-Language Hearing Association and is a recent recipient of that organization's ACE Award for continuing education.
