Edwin A. Welker, agriculture credit manager for Farm Service Agency (formerly ASCS) in the Southeast Missouri area, has received the "County Supervisor of the Year" award presented by Missouri Rural Economic and Community Development (RECD), formerly Farmers Home Administration (FmHA).
Welker, who works out of the Jackson office, received his award from William T. Shay, state director of the RECD, during a recent state meeting held at Tan-Tar-A in Osage Beach. The award recognized Welker's ability and knowledge of RECD loan making and loan servicing programs.
Welker has worked with RECD and FmHA 20 years and has worked with offices throughout the Southeast Missouri area, including Bloomfield, Poplar Bluff, Farmington, Perryville, Jackson and Marble Hill.
