Terry Berry has been named manager of Heilig-Meyers Furniture Co., 210 S. Silver Springs Road.
Berry has been with Heilig-Meyers two years, serving as assistant manager at the Festus store before moving to Granite City, Ill., as manager of a new store there eight months ago.
Berry, a native of the St. Louis area, previously worked with Dillard's Department Store 10 years.
New hours, including Sunday hours, have been established at the Cape Girardeau store, which opened here in 1992.
The store will be open 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday; 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday and Friday; 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday; and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday.
Ron Mix has been named general manager of the South County, Jefferson County and West County Publications of Suburban Newspapers of Greater St. Louis.
Mix, a native of Charleston, previoulsy owned a weekly newspaper at Chaffee, and was publisher of the News Guardian, a biweekly newspaper published at Cape Girardeau about three years.
Mix, a graduate of University of Missouri with a bachelor's degree in journalism, has been involved in the newspaper industry since 1979. He will be responsible for operations of 17 of the Journals' 40 newspapers.
Margret Dickerson of Jackson has been elected president of Traveler's Protective Association (T.P.A.) Post M. New officers and board members were elected recently during the group's annual meeting, held at the VFW Post in Cape Girardeau.
David Wallis of Cape Girardeau was elected vice president. Board members are Danny Dewrock, Jerry Henley, Juanita Henley, Gary Geiser, Clyde Wallace and Leslie "Bill" Haman, all of Cape Girardeau; Leon Dickerson of Jackson; and Mark McGuire of Chaffee.
Jim Burke, AAA insurance agent in the Cape Girardeau AAA office, has received the AAA-Auto Club of Missouri 1996 Gold Seal Agent Award based on auto insurance sales, loss ratios and policyholder service. Burke has worked with AAA Insurance since 1985.
Burke has been an AAA sales agent since 1986. The AAA Auto Club of Missouri provides motoring, travel and insurance services.
Karla Kilhafner Marquart of Century 21 Ashland Realty, 105 S. Broadview, has received the Centurion Award for sales performance.
The award is one of the highest levels of recognition awarded in the Century 21 system, which includes more than 6,000 franchised broker offices worldwide.
Annette Voelker has been honored for 10 years of service at Regional Eyecare Center Inc., 1749 Independence.
Voelker of Cape Girardeau, an optometric assistant and manager of the contact lens department at the center, also assists Drs. Beverly Cleair and Thomas Gibbons. She has been in optometry 18 years and is a member of the AOSA Paraoptometric Section.
She is a registered optometric assistant and is working toward certification as a registered technician.
Oralee Poteet, Olive Branch director of social services at the Carbondale branch office of Tip of Illinois Health Services Inc., has passed the state examination for licensed clinical social workers.
Poteet is a graduate of Florida State University with bachelor's degree in social work. She has a master's degree in social work form the University of Texas, and a master's degree in English from Southeast Missouri State University.
Tip, a home health agency, served the lower 27 counties in Southern Illinois.
Michael Yaeger and Kathy Lohmann have been honored by Mutual of Omaha Cos. for top sales production.
Yaeger received the President's Club for '95 award during the company's recent National Convention of Career Professional, held in San Diego.
Yeager has been with the company since 1983.
Lohmann received Honor Club status for 1995.

Debbie Tindall has been named manager at University Mall of Carbondale, Ill.
Tindall, a Murphysboro native, is a graduate of Southern Illinois University with teaching and home economic degrees, has more than 18 years in the retail industry, most recently with Kohl's Department Store in West Allis, near Milwaukee. She previously worked at JCPenney and Venture stores in Carbondale.
