Keith Lawson of Danville, Ky., has joined Dana Corp. at Cape Girardeau as environmental and safety engineer.

Lawson's appointment is one of three appointments announced by Dana last week. Cheryl Henry has joined the company here as a staff secretary and Missy Jones has been promoted to the Human Resource Department as a human resource assistant. Henry previously served in the Air Force, and Jones has worked as a cell technician at Dana since August 1994.

Lawson, who will be in charge of all environmental compliance and training at the Cape Girardeau plant, has worked for Dana 10 years. He most recently served as engineering manager at Dana's Danville plant. He previoulsy worked with Dana at plants in Tennessee and Michigan.

Lawson is a graduate of Tennessee Technological University with a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering. He is currently doing postgraduate work in Toledo University's graduate engineering program.

Brenda Miesner recently joined the Century 21 Dutch Realty sales team at 528 E. Jackson Blvd. in Jackson.

Miesner has completed the Century 21 Plus Training School.

She was previously employed as Supervisor of Assessments in Murphysboro, Ill.

Jim Burke, AAA sales agent in the Cape Girardeau AAA office, has received the AAA Gold Seal Award.

Burke, who has been an AAA sales agent since 1986, was recognized for meeting his goals in auto insurance sales, loss ratios and policyholder services.

AAA provides auto finance and insurance services to more than 38 million members throughout the country. Burke has achieved Gold Seal Agent status since the award was started in 1993.

Deborah A. Gross and Karen Brown have joined Capital Insurance and Associates in Cape Girardeau, and Cheryl Jochens, who has been with the agency a year as bookkeeper and claims representative, is now a licensed agent in property and casualty.

Gross of Cape Girardeau has been a licensed property/casualty agent 10 years and recently qualified for a life/health agent's license. She is a member of the Society of Certified Insurance Service Representatives and has a CISR designation.

Brown has rejoined the Capital Insurance staff, and will be in the personal lines representative overseeing the home and automobile markets. She has seven years experienced in the insurance industry and is licensed in life and health as well as property and casualty.

Lonnie Mobley of Jackson has joined the local Beltone Hearing Center. Sharon Williams a nurse and owner of the Beltone Center, announced Mobley's appointment.

The local Beltone office is part of the Chicago-based Beltone Electronics Corp.'s network of more than 3,300 centers and offices throughout the world.

Mr. and Mrs. Mark S. Kasten of Rental Land Inc., 1922 Independence in Cape Girardeau, recently attended the American Rental Association's 40th annual National Convention and Rental Equipment Show at Anaheim, Calif.

More than 9,000 people from the United States, Canada and 13 other countries, attended the show, which provided numerous hands-on workshops and seminars. More than 700 exhibitors displayed all types of equipment and products for rental operations. New products, merchandising ideas and new trends in the industry were discussed.

Richard L. Wilburn, a native of Matthews and formerly of Cape Girardeau, has been named vice president and commercial loan officer at Mercantile Bank of Lebanon.

Wilburn has more than 20 years of banking experience. Most recently he served as vice president of commercial finance at National City Bank in Louisville, Ky. He previously worked at the Mercantile Bank of Cape Girardeau.

He is a graduate of Southeast Missouri University and the School of Commercial Lending in Norman, Okla. He is currently a student at the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana Tech University in Baton Rouge. He will be relocating to Lebanon soon.

Bernice Glass, VIP Heartland Industries; Mary Ellen Taylor, Security Bank of Marble Hill; and Naomi Trapp, Trula Richardet and Elda Manger, all of Perry County Nursing Home, have been recognized as "Missouri Outstanding Senior Employees" for 1995.

Kacky Garner of Rep. Bill Emerson's office presented the awards at Missouri Employment Division, 6 Girardeau Court, last week, on behalf of the Governors Senior Employment Coordinating Committee. The program is designed to recognize benefits that senior workers bring to the work place and to promote the hiring of workers 55 and older.

Dorothy Miller of Capitol Hill Realty Inc. and Tim Singleton of Re/Max United Realty have completed requirements to become certified residential specialists.

Miller has more than 20 years experienced in the real estate industry. She is an agent with Capitol Hill, 619 N. Broadview.

Singleton, who has more than 10 years of real estate experience and is broker/owner of Re/Max United Realty, 2911 Bloomfield Road, also received a certificate for graduating from Realtor Institute with Commercial and Investments emphasis.

The certificate and plaques were presented during a recent meeting of the Cape Girardeau County Board of Realtors.

Melinda Tripp and Paul Furtak have joined the accounting firm of Kerber, Eck and Braeckel LLP, at the Carbondale, Ill., office.

Tripp and Furtak are graduates of Southern Illinois University-Carbondale. Each have more than two years experience.

Kerber, Eck And Braeckel, LLP, has offices in Missouri (Cape Girardeau), Illinois and Wisconsin, and provides auditing, accounting, tax, financial reports and business consulting services.

Debbie Hayden, patient care coordinator for nursing care in the Cape Girardeau area for the Visiting Nurse Association of Southeast Missouri, recently received the Jackson L. Burke Award for Excellence in Home Care.

The annual award is presented for leadership in the association.

Other awards presented by the association went to Ann Hudson, home health aide for "Employee of the Year," and Sister Elaine Georger, the Hospice Volunteer Appreciation Award.

Three employees from the Cape Girardeau office received 10-year awards. They were Dennis Gardner, an enterostomal specialist, Pat Huttegger, quality assurance coordinator, and Shirlee Michelson, branch office manager.

Dr. Zenon Duda recently attended the eighth annual St. Louis podiatry seminar, held at the Doubletree Hotel and Conference Center.

Duda of the Cape Foot Clinic has been in practice 14 years. His office is at 1345 Mount Auburn Road.

Sheila Emery, branch manager of the Addus Healthcare office at Anna, Ill., has been promoted to area manager for branches in Anna, Fairview Heights, Mount Vernon, Mount Carmel, Springfield, Champaign, Decatur and Rock Island.

Addus Healthcare, headquartered at Anna, provides home care to senior citizens in Illinois' 13 southernmost counties.
