Kathy Crist has joined St. Francis Medical Center as director of emergency services.

Crist, a native of Cape Girardeau and graduate of Puxico High School, has worked the past three years as manager of emergency and outpatient services at Grant Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio.

She also has served as director of medical and surgical care units at Medical Center Hospital in Chillicothe, Ohio; staff development coordinator for long-term care at Alexian Brothers in St. Louis; and as patient care service administrator at Canby Health Services in Canby, Minn. She also worked at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pa., and Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Festus.

Crist is a graduate of Capital University in Columbus with a degree in nursing. She also holds associate of arts and applied science degrees from Jefferson College in Hillsboro, Mo.

Danetta Mason and Sandy Clingingsmith have joined Special Effects Styling Salon, 2532 William, as stylists. Mason, of Thebes, Ill., and Clingingsmith, of Sedgewickville, are both graduates of Stage One The Hair School at Cape Girardeau.

Also joining the salon were Renee Reinagel of Kelso as salon coordinator and Jeanne Mayberry of Advance as receptionist.

Kim Talley, owner of the salon, announced the appointments.

Leah Callis of Jackson has joined DJ's Salon, 1020 N. Kingshighway, as a hair stylist and nail technician.

Callis has more than four years experience in the beauty field.

Mary Todt of Oran, an employee of St. Francis Medical Center, has earned certification as an accredited record technician by the American Health Information Management Association.

Todt, a reimbursement specialist in the health information management department at St. Francis, underwent 65 semester hours of study, and passed a certification exam for the designation. She has worked at the hospital since 1981.

Donna Domian of Cape Girardeau, a representative for the financial-services firm of Edward D. Jones and Co., recently attended the company's advanced management seminar in New Orleans.

A number of topics were discussed at the conference, including estate planning, retirement planning investments and other business management skills.

Thomas M. Meyer has been elected a national director of the National Association of Realtors.

Meyer, of Thomas L. Meyer Co. in Cape Girardeau, and his wife recently attended the National Association of Realtors' mid-winter meetings in Hawaii.

Meyer, immediate past president of the Missouri Association of Realtors, is a member of the NAR Local and State Issues Committee and a member of International Real Estate Section.

Dr. Shanon Kirchhoff, a Cape Girardeau orthodontist, recently attended the Missouri Disaster Dental Identification Team training session at the State Emergency Management Agency facility near Jefferson City.

The training is designed to provide forensic identification teams in case of disaster.

Dental forensic identification involves examination of dental evidence and comparison with patients' dental records.

Cliff Fleek, formerly of Jackson, has joined KEBC Radio in Oklahoma City.

Fleek, known professionally as Cliff Harris, previously worked as operations manager and on-air personality for KGMO Radio and KCGQ Radio in Cape Girardeau, and with KFIN Radio in Joneboro, Ark.

KEBC Radio is owned by Clear Channel Communications, which has radio and television properties throughout the U.S.

Nine Coldwell Banker Hamilton Realty associates have completed requirements to receive the certified residential referral specialist designation.

Completing the Coldwell Banker Referral Network certification course were Martha Hamilton, Liz Abernathy, Bill Stovall, Martha J. Brown, Arthur Blaylock, Pam Johnson, Ken Kiefer, Harriet Drusch and Eric Wooden. They specialize in finding homes for out-of-town buyers.

Coldwell Banker Hamilton Realty has offices at Cape Girardeau and Jackson.

Janet Palmer of Memphis, Tenn., formerly of Jackson, received the Gold Vision Award of Excellence presented by International Paper Co., a Fortune 500 company.

Palmer, a Jackson High School graduate, received her award at International corporate headquarters in New York City.

The award was presented to Palmer for her work in developing a relocation program.
