Bob Bowman has been appointed general manager of General Sign Co.'s wholesale division, Admiral Plastics. Bowman of Cape Girardeau has been with General Sign since 1981.
In other promotions, General Sign announced that Jennifer Emmett has been named assistant apprentice in the company's design department and Walt Margrabe has been appointed manager of the installation and service crew.
Emmett of Cape Girardeau is a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University with a degree in commercial art. She has been with General Sign a year. Margrabe of Cape Girardeau started with the company in 1977 as a sheet metal fabricator. He joined the installation and service crew in 1979.
Judy Lueders has joined University Extension in Perry County as a nutrition specialist.
Lueders, a native of Cape Girardeau, will work with clients in Perry, Cape Girardeau, Bollinger, Iron, Wayne and Madison counties.
Lueders is a graduate of the University of Missouri, with a bachelor's degree in foods and nutrition. She has a master's degree from Southeast Missouri State University in home economics education with an emphasis on nutrition.
The past two years she worked as a part-time faculty member at Southeast Missouri State University, teaching food and nutrition courses in the human environmental sciences department.
Lueders plans to develop a number of educational programs focused on improving nutrition,
Donna Robert of Cape Girardeau has joined Ford and Sons Funeral Home as a pre-need specialist with both the funeral home and Cape County Memorial Park.
Robert, a former teacher, is a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University with a master's degree in education.
She has passed the Missouri State Life Insurance test and is a field underwriter for United Family Life.
Mark A. Brueckner, a native of Cape Girardeau, has joined the St. Louis office of Baird, Kurtz and Dodson, certified public accountants, as a staff accountant.
Brueckner is a 1995 graduate of Southeast Missouri State University with a bachelor's degree in accounting.
Baird, Kurtz and Dodson is a regional certified public accounting firm with 20 offices in seven states.
Janet Job has been named Agent of the Year by Metropolitan Life Insurance Co., 351 S. Silver Springs Road, for a second straight year.
Job of Cape Girardeau joined Met Life four years ago.
She is a member of National Association of Life Underwriters and is currently serving on that organizations's board.
Joseph and Mildred Kirchdoerfer of Cape Girardeau recently attended the 1995 Missouri Governor's Conference on Agriculture at Tan-Tar-A Resort at Osage Beach.
The Kirchdoerfers were guests of Orscheln Farm & Home. While at the three-day conference, which attracted more than 900 people, the Kirchdoerfers met with Pete Hartley and Jerry Orscheln of Orscheln and with Missouri Director of Agriculture John L. Saunders.
David Cheek of Ullin has been named Employee of the Year at Shawnee Correctional Center at Vienna, Ill.
Cheek, corrections food service supervisor III, joined the Shawnee Center in 1988 as a supervisor I. He received his award from Shawnee Center Warden Richard D. McVicar.
Cheek is familiar to Cape Girardeau and area residents. He was winner of the Southeast Missouri Hospital Foundation's Showcase Celebrity Look Alike Contest in November. Cheek entered as "Tool Time's" Al Borland.
Dr. Robert Kessinger, a specific chiropractor in Cape Girardeau, was guest speaker at the Kale Upper Cervical Specific Conference recently at Spartanburg, S.C.
Doctors of chiropractic from across the country attended the conference as guests of Dr. Michael Kale.
Kessinger operates Kessinger Clinic, 1424 Kurre Lane. Others attending the conference from the Kessinger Clinic were Dr. Mike Anderson, Dr. Kimberly A. Coolidge and Dr. Monti Ferronato.
