Kirt Cochran of Cape Girardeau, has joined Missouri Farm Bureau Federation & Affiliated Companies as an agent in Cape Girardeau County.
Cochran has completed a two-week training session on life, accident/health and property and casualty insurance.
Cochran works out of the local Farm Bureau office at 406 W. Washington in Jackson.
Daryl Leine has joined Union Planters Bank of Southeast Missouri in Cape Girardeau as a vice president-commercial loan officer.
Leine, previously employed at Mercantile Bank of Southeast Missouri, is a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University, and has a master's degree from St. Louis University.
In his new duties, Leine will assist business customers with a variety of commercial services.
Union Planters Bank here is an affiliate of Union Planters Corp., headquartered at Memphis, Tenn., with more than 400 offices in seven states.
A number of Dana Corporation employees recently attended a "Product Cost Analysis For Non-Financial People course, presented by the Dana University Business School.

Objectives of the class were analyzing all the cost items that go into manufacturing a product, understanding manufacturing overhead and how changes in volume can affect profit.
Topics covered included sales and manufacturing forecasts, direct labor, selling prices and manufacturing and planning.
Mrs. Joyce Horky of Burfordville was the winner of the "cash" in the Rainbow Money Machine that was displayed at the Southeast Missouri District Fair last month.
The total amount of money in the machine was $97. A total of five persons guessed the correct amount, and Mrs. Horky's emerged the winner from a drawing of the winning entries.
The contest was sponsored by the Rain Air Company of Sikeston.
Stone Manes of Ceramo Company in Jackson has been elected vice president of the American Trucking Association (ATA), Missouri branch.
Manes was elected during the annual membership meeting of the Missouri Motor Carriers Association, held recently at Lake of the Ozarks.
A number of officers were elected, including Richard A. Sitton of Joplin, chairman of the Missouri Motors Carriers Association.
Laura Jo Ice of Miller City, Ill. was winner of the $750 Big Bertha golf driver during a special promotion held at Hutson Furniture Store, 43 S. Main, in downtown Cape Girardeau.
The promotion, "Keller Solid Wood Open," was sponsored by the furniture store and Keller Furniture, a furniture manufacturer and supplier to Hutson Furniture.
Dale Burton of Bell City, a driver for National Carriers Inc., based in Liberal, Kan., has completed two years of safe driving for the company.
Richard W. Bradshaw, a licensed registered representative and fellow of Life Underwriters Association, recently attended the Prudential National Business Conference, at Opryland Hotel in Nashville, Tenn., where he received the 1996 "President's Citation Award" for outstanding sales and client service.
Prudential's Cape Girardeau office, 1020-B North Kingshighway, is part of the STCS District, which ranked number one nationally in sales.
Tim Singleton of RE/MAX United Realty, has completed a course, "Essentials of International Real Estate," sponsored by the National Board of Realtors and the Missouri Board of Realtors.
The international real estate environment, including capital flow, currencies, government regulations and cultures, was discussed. The course is part of instruction necessary for Certified International Property Specialist (CIPS).
Singleton, who holds a number of real estate professional designations, is currently president of the Cape Girardeau County Multiple Listing Services, Inc., and a director on the Cape Girardeau County Board of Realtors.
Jayne Ervin of Jayson Jewelers, 115 Themis, in downtown Cape Girardeau, was recently recognized as an official sales agent for the Nationally Advertised Diamond Engagement Ring campaign, during the Retail Jewelers Organization's summer symposium at Des Moines, Iowa.
Robin Garin Rotstein, award-winning designer of the special ring which features a round center diamond, accented by tapered baguettes, attended the symposium to discuss the two-year advertising campaign.
Laura Beggs Butsch, daughter of Sam and Margaret Beggs of Jackson, has been named "1977 Woman of Achievement" by the Professional Women's Alliance, the St. Louis affiliate of National Association for Female Executives.
The award is presented for outstanding professional advancement and community service.
Butsch served on the board of directors for the Strategic Leadership Forum and Gateway Human Resource Association. She is a member of the World Affairs Council, Professional Women's Alliance, St. Louis Counts/County Economic Council, Human Resource Management Association and the St. Louis County Republican Women's Club.
Butsch. of Clayton, is employed as director, Consulting Services with the St. Louis office of Right Management Consultants, a human resources consulting firm. She has a BS in Criminal Justice and a MA in Public Administration from Southeast Missouri State University.
Ivan L. Irvin of Century 21 Key Realty, 980 N. Kingshighway in Cape Girardeau, recently participated in the Century 21 Investment Connection in Las Vegas.
The one-day meeting, featuring Century 21 sales associated from 20 states, generated 15 offers to purchase commercial and investment real estate, totaling more than $32.7 million.
The Investment Connection was held at the Tropicana Hotel in Vegas. Potential investors received detailed information about properties as Century 21 sales associates showcased their listings.
"The investment connection offers real estate investors a diverse section of investment opportunities, from apartment and office complexes to restaurants, motels and shopping centers," said Irvin. "It also offers sales associates with an effect forum for exposing available properties to a large, national audience.
Cape Girardeau Neurosurgeon, Dr. Scott R. Gibbs, has been named regional medical director for the Basic Trauma Life Support Course in Southeast Missouri.
Gibbs will oversee the training course, which is sponsored by the American College of Emergency Physicians, and actively participate in the training, which involves more than 100 pre-hospital and emergency personnel each year.
Gibbs earned Bachelor and Masters of Arts Degrees in Biological Science from the University of Missouri-Columbia. He also a M.D. degree from U.M., in 1991.
Julia Recker, formerly of Cape Girardeau, has been inducted as president of the Florida Recreation and park Association in Central Florida.
Attending the induction ceremony was Recker's mother, Majorie Thompson, of Cape Girardeau.
The induction ceremony was held at the annual association's conference, held at Grenelefe Resort, near Haines City, Fla.
Also attending the ceremony were Recker's husband, Frank, and her daughters, Lisa Stanfield of Cape Girardeau, Trisha Kell of Miama, and Nancy L'Hommedieu of Central Florida.
Recker is the recreation superintendent for Kissimmee, Fla.. She is a graduate of Florida State University, and has been in the parks and recreation field 16 years. She will attend the National Congress for Recreation land Parks in Salt Lake City, Utah later this year.
