Mike Bacon has joined ERA Cape Realty, 1409-A N. Mount Auburn Road, as a sales associate.
David S. Glastetter, member/broker of the company, announced Bacon's appointment recently.
Baker, a native of Poplar Bluff, has lived in the Cape Girardeau the past seven years.

Lisa Robinson has been named manager at Schlotzsky's Deli, 276 S. Mount Auburn Road in the Lorimont Place development.
Robinson previously served as manager of the former Arby's Restaurant in Cape Girardeau.
She succeeds Adnan Ipek, who transferred to the Wales area of Great Britain. Ipek served as Schlotzsky's manager since it opened here in 1995.
Schlotzsky's is open seven days a week.
Daniel J. Loenneke, financial adviser with Robert Thomas Securities, Inc., is operating the company's new office at 1440 Kurre Lane.
Loenneke has been with the company a year.
Susan Lukefahr has joined Lakenan Insurance Agency as group benefits manager.
She will service three sites -- Perryville, Ste. Genevieve and Crystal City.

John E. Carpenter, Cape Girardeau County coroner, has attended a four-day workshop on child death investigations, in Washington.
Carpenter was selected by the Department of Social Services' State Technical Assistance Team to represent the Missouri coroners group at the workshop, sponsored by the American Bar Association.
Donald G. Gast, chief deputy coroner of Cape Girardeau County, recently attended a five-day course at St. Louis University School of Forensic Pathology.
The course was designed to prepare investigators to conduct scientific, thorough and systematic scene and telephone investigations into deaths which by law are under the jurisdiction of a medicolegal office, and to prepare the investigative information and complete death inquiry.
Gast also attended a three-day course at Jefferson City, on mass fatalities incidents by earthquakes, sponsored by the State and Federal Emergency Management Agency.
Karen Hendrickson, Jeanne Hill and Maggie Schuch, all with Southeast Missouri Hospital's nursing department, were honored recently for excellence in the profession of nursing.
The awards were presented by Sigma Theta Tau, Lambda Theta Chapter in honor of the nursing society's 75th anniversary. Making the presentation was A. Louise Hart, professor and chairwoman of the Department of Nursing at Southeast Missouri State University.
Hendrickson, assistant administrator and chief nursing officer at the hospital, received the Excellence in Nursing Leadership award. She was cited for her work in establishing the hospital's College of Nursing and for her service on the Missouri State Board of Nursing, where she held the office of president. She has also served as president of the Missouri Organization for Nurses Executives, and Sigma Theta Tau chapter president.
Hill, an instructor with the hospital's College of Nursing, received the Excellence in Education Award. Hill, who joined the hospital in the 1960s, has served in a number of management positions, including nurse manager of the Elrod Obstetrics and Gynecology Center's Nurseries. She has been in nursing educaiton at the college since it started in 1991 and helped in the curriculum development.
Schuch, nurse manager of Southeast's Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit, received the Excellence in Nursing Practice award. In addition to directing patient care, Schuch assists with numerous critical care courses and has provided leadership on various hospital committees. She developed a competency exam and study guide for registered nurses that meet the Joint Commission for Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations standards. Under Schuch's leadership, the hospital's CTU in 1996 received the ICU Citation, given by the Society of Critical Care Medicine, American Association of Critical Care Nurses and American Institute of Architects Committee on Architecture for Healthcare.
Ted Coalter, president of Heartland Insurance, and Allen Phillips of Prudential Insurance, attended the National Association of Life Underwriter's national convention recently, at Denver.
Coalter is president of the Cape Girardeau Association of Life Underwriters. Phillips is vice president and LUTCF chairman for the local group.
The Cape Girardeau group meets the third Friday of each month at Port Cape Girardeau, with the lunch meetings starting at noon.
Brian Shaffer and Mike Morgan have received promotions with the Cape Girardeau Fire Department.
Shaffer was promoted from master firefighter to captain. Morgan, a fire inspector, was also promoted to captain.
The awards were announced by Fire Chief Dan Whtie during a special awards presentation.

Tim Reeves of Dongola, Ill, president and general manager of Southern Illinois Power Cooperative, Marion, has been elected to represent Illinois, Iowa and Wisconsin on the National Rural Utilities Cooperative Finance Corp. board of directors.
He was elected during the CFC Region lV meeting held recently in Springfield.
CFC is an independent, self-help financing institution, founded by rural electric cooperatives in 1969 to provide loan funds for rural electric cooperative.
Bonnie Baker of Scott City, an employee of Sunshine Villa Residential Car Facility II at Scott City, has been honored for 20 years service.
Ron McCully, owner/administrator of the facility, presented Baker with a plaque and a check for $500, during a special awards ceremony recently.
Baker is personal care director at the facility.
