Jeffrey W. Jernigan of Cape Girardeau has joined U.S. Office Products (formerly Craftsman Office Supply) as operating company president of the Cape Girardeau site.
Jernigan previously operated his own business, Fine Print, L.L.C. as an independent printing broker and business forms distributor. He has more than 20 years experience in office products sales and management.
U.S. Office Products, founded in 1994, is a fast-growing office supplies operation with more than 400 offices. The company focuses on three operating divisions -- supplies, furniture and breakroom management.
Joseph J. Russell, a Cape Girardeau attorney, has been honored as a "Senior Counselor" of the Missouri Bar.
The Senior Counselor title is bestowed on attorneys who have reached age 75 or who have been admitted to the Missouri Bar 50 years.
Russell was honored during the recent Missouri Bar annual meeting, held at Mariott's Tan-Tar-A Resort at Lake of Ozarks.
Rodney Phelps and Tom Masterson have received promotions by Dana Corp.'s Spicer Axle Division at the Cape Girardeau facility.
Phelps, who joined Dana in November 1993, has been promoted to Level IV Maintenance Technician. He has worked in the maintenance department since April 1994.
Masterson, who joined Dana in April 1991, has been promoted to Level III Maintenance Technician. He has served in the maintenance department since October 1996.
Terri A. Heisserer has been promoted to assistant vice president at NationsBank of Cape Girardeau.
Heisserer, the banking center manager at 800 N. Kingshighway, has been given additional responsibility of managing the banking center at 2. S. Mount Auburn Road.
Heisserer, a graduate of Notre Dame High School and Southeast Missouri State University, joined the bank in 1989, and has served as commercial loan associate, personal banker and personal banking assistant manager. She has completed several American Institute of Banking courses.
Sandra Quigley of Gulliver's Travel in Jackson has completed an educational cruise line inspection, at Miami.
Quigley attended various sales seminars and inspected the Sovereign of the Seas, the Century and the Enchantment of the Seas.
Tim Schwent and Connie Brown, certified public accountants with Schott & Van de Ven, Certified Public Accountants, have completed educational classes and programs.
Schwent, who has been a certified public account since 1972, completed a program offered by the Missouri Society of CPAs, entitled "Advance Problems for Small and Closely Held Businesses, at Kansas City. Schwent specializes in tax planning and advisory services for closely held business.
Brown received specialized training business evaluation, attending classes on "Special Issues in Business Valuation," and "Valuations and Transfers: A Case Study," sponsored by the Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Brown, who has been a CPA since 1985, with certifications in Illinois and Missouri, specializes in audits of wholesale distributors, retail companies, school districts and local governments.
Bill Seifert, a service manager at Wieser Honda in Cape Girardeau, has received national recognition from American Honda Motor Co. for outstanding performance.
Honda Service Professional Service Manager Recognition Program offers two achievement levels -- District and Zone. Seifert was recognized in both levels.
Each level requires managers to meet tenure requirements, to recognize the achievements of their employees, to participate in training, to run a profitable service department, and receive outstanding "Total Satisfaction Index" customer cards.
Glen Walker, of Transland Inc., Springfield, has been named chairman of the Missouri Motor Carries Association.
