Greg Cook has joined Zickfield Jewelry Store, 29 N. Main, in downtown Cape Girardeau, as a sales associate.

Cook of Cape Girardeau has more than five years experience in jewelry sales.

Jean Kelpe, a registered nurse at Southeast Missouri Hospital, is winner of the "Name the Whale" contest, during the "Wailing in the Woods" Festival, sponsored by Southeast Hospice, a service of Southeast Missouri Hospital.

"Wailin' Willie" was the named selected from more than 350 entries for the festival's new mascot, a musically inclined whale designed by Cape Girardeau artist Don Greenwood. A number of entries submitted the "Wailing Willie" name, and the winner was determined by a drawing.

Kelpe received a new bicycle, donated by the Cape Girardeau Wal-Mart Supercenter.

James M. "Jasper" Fisher, formerly of Scott City, has been elected international vice president of the Electrical Apparatus Service Association.

Fisher of Brighton, Ill., and Industrial Motor Repair at Alton, Ill., was installed in his new position during a recent convention at Orlando, Fla. Besides serving as vice president, he will coordinate the activities of EASA's Education Services Committee and Insurance and Safety Committee.

EASA is a group of more than 2,500 companies that sell, service and repair industrial and commercial electric motors.

Pharmacists John T. McMullin and John Finney, of John's Pharmacy, 2001 Independence, have completed 16 hours of specialty training diabetes care at Columbia.

The three-day program, sponsored by the Missouri Pharmacy Association in cooperation with the National Community Pharmacists Association, was designed to support pharmacists in their efforts to enhance the level of care of patients with diabetes and reduce the cost of managing the disease.

Judith Sievers of Oak Ridge recently attended the Stanley Home Products National Sales Convention at San Antonio where she was recognized for outstanding sales performance and length of service.

Sievers was recognized for being a three-time "V.I.P" winner. A total of 150 V.I.P. were recognized, but only 22 were three-time winners. She also received a 25-year gold watch from the president of the company.

Sievers is a Stanley group leader with 32 customer representatives in her group. Her office is at 201 W. Main in Jackson.

Stanley Home Products was founded in 1931.
