A Cape Girardeau area agent was honored recently during the 118th annual meeting of agents of the Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Co.

David L. Hahs received the Diamond Award, present for sales in excess of $10 million.

Hahs is associated with Northwestern Mutual's T. Ronald Hahs District Agency in Cape Girardeau.

Northwestern Mutual is the nation's fifth largest life insurance firm, with assets of more than $72 billion. The company's agency has been rated by "Sales and Marketing Management" magazine as the best sales force in the industry.

Kirt Cochran, an agent for Missouri Farm Bureau Insurance Services in Cape Girardeau County, has been promoted to the position of director of training for the company.

Cochran, who is in charge of the company's agent training program, assumed his new duties last week.

Cochran, a native of Detroit, Mich., is a graduate of Cape Central High School and Southeast Missouri State University at Cape Girardeau, with a bachelor's degree in business administration.

Cochran received an associate degree from Mineral Area Junior College, where he played basketball and was the team's leading scorer and rebounder. He was later a member of Southeast's NCAA Division II men's final four basketball team his senior year.

Prior to joining Farm Bureau, Cochran was an assistant men's basketball coach at Southeast Missouri State University.

Cochran and his family will be relocate to Jefferson City's Farm Bureau's home office.

William Brooks has been named president of the Noranda Aluminum Group.

David Kerr, president and chief executive officer of Noranda Inc., announced Brooks' new appointment.

Brooks will have the overall responsibility for management and strategic direction of the aluminum group.

Brooks, who served as president of Noranda in New Madrid from April 1989 to July 1996 and lived in Sikeston during his tenure with Noranda's Primary Products Division, succeeds Elzie Borders, who is retiring after 16 years with Noranda.

During the past two years, Brooks has served as president of the Noranda USA unit of Noranda Aluminum Group.

Dr. Rod Crist, who has been at Cross Trails Clinic in Marble Hill since July 1997, will move to the Cross Trails Medical Center in the Medical Arts Building at 937 Broadway, Cape Girardeau.

Crist joins Dr. Charles Lastrapes, who has been with the Cross Trails Center in Cape Girardeau since it opened Aug. 1, 1997.

Crist and Lastrapes are family practice physicians.

Cross Trails is a community health center established in October 1995 at Marble Hill.

Ann Morales, Susan McDowell, Kathi Fish and Brandy Massey have joined RE\MAX Achievers, 1471 N. Kingshighway.

All are members of the National Board of Realtors, Missouri Association of Realtors and the Cape Girardeau County Board of Realtors.

RE/MAX here has 11 associates.

Dr. Anne Heisserer, a Cape Girardeau chiropractor, has completed a 100-hour postdoctoral program in utilization review and quality assurance.

The focus of the utilization review and quality assurance program is to prepare doctors of chiropractic to serve as certified insurance claims reviewers.

Heisserer has practiced chiropractic medicine in Cape Girardeau for eight months at 2911 Beaver Creek Drive. She received her doctor of chiropractic degree from Logan College of Chiropractic in Chesterfield in 1996.
