Gina Dillon has joined RE/MAX Achievers, 1471 N. Kingshighway.

Dillon, previously with Coldwell Banker Hamilton Realty, will focus on residential, commercial and investment properties.

She is a member of the National Board of Realtors, Missouri Association of Realtors and the Cape Girardeau County Board of Realtors.

RE/MAX Achievers, owned by Rodney Arnold, has eight associates here. RE/MAX International, headquartered in Denver, Colo., has more than 3,000 offices and 50,000 sales associates worldwide.

Eddie Clardy Jr. of Jackson has completed the nine-day course in auctioneering and auction sales management at the Missouri Auction School at St. Joseph.

Training at the school included lecture and workshops, featuring auctioneers from across the nation. Subjects covered included antiques, livestock, furniture, business liquidations, real estate, auctions and the rapid-fire chant of the auctioneer.

He participated in selling at numerous public auctions in Missouri and Kansas.

Clardy received a diploma and a the title of "Colonel."

Catherine A. White, a certified public accountant, recently passed the National Uniform CPA examination and completed additional requirements to receive her Missouri licenses as a CPA.

White is employed with Begley, Janssen, Young & Birk, LC., CPA's in Cape Girardeau and is a member of the Southeast Missouri Chapter of CPAs.

She previously worked in accounting in retail, manufacturing and broadcast industries in the area. She served as a volunteer income tax preparer with the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program.

Dr. William P. Thorpe was one of three American faculty members at an International Symposium held recently in Seville, Spain.

Thorpe of Orthopaedic Associates of Southeast Missouri, P.C. of Cape Girardeau, presented data on his six years of experience with laser-assisted capsular shift in patients with shoulder instability. He was also invited to help train orthopaedic surgeons in Spain in laser techniques.

Thorpe specializes in sports medicine and arthroscopic surgery. He serves as a faculty member and team physician for Southeast Missouri State University and Southern Illinois University.

Dennis Littleton, wastewater operator for Biokyowa Inc. at Cape Girardeau, recently completed the Wastewater Treatment Short School.

The five-day session, sponsored by the Environmental Resource Center of Crowder College at Neosho, covered a number of topics, including wastewater characteristics, flow measurements and wastewater treatment systems and processes.

Kathy Jo Schlosser has been accepted by the National Registry of Who's Who as a life member.

Schlosser is a partner in Appraisal Consultants Inc. at Scott City.

The National Registry of Who's Who is a recognized biographical publication for professionals in recognition of exemplary service, both to the community and to profession.

Larry Koehler, Terry Taylor and Scott Stephens, of Dana Corp.'s Cape Girardeau facility, recently attended a Dana University class, titled "Financial Planning for Business Success."

The class, held at Fort Wayne, Ind., was designed to show that planning is the key to operating a successful buisness.

Students at the four-day class managed a fictitious corporation, using tools such as cash flow, receivables, inventories, liabilities and stock prices.

William Gerry Keane III, a local financial planner, has completed a training course on the federal retirement system, which is offered by the Federal Benefits Division of First Financial Planner Inc. in Cape Girardeau.

Keane, a registered representative of FFP Securities Inc., is qualified to advise federal employees on their retirement benefits.

Betty Weber and Kendra Kelley of Jayson Jewelers Ltd. in Cape Girardeau attended the 1998 Jewelers Circular Keystone (JCK) International Jewelry Show and Business Conference at the Sands Expo and Convention Center in Las Vegas.

Weber and Kelley previewed the latest jewelry designs and attended a number of jewelry business conferences and seminars.

Linda D. Puchbauer, business banker at NationsBank in Jackson, has received the annual Leadership Excellence in Neighborhood Development (LEND) award from NationsBank.

The award is presented in recognition of bank associates who give their time, talent and energy to make a difference in their communities through their work at the bank or through outside volunteer commitments.

In addition to the award, Puchbauer presented a $1,000 NationsBank contribution to a non-profit organization of her choice, Easter Seals.

Puchbauer has been with the bank since 1978 and is responsible for business lending, business development and deposit relationships in the Jackson area.
