Walter Lange has retired from the Missouri Department of Transportation.

Lange of Jackson worked with MoDOT almost 42 years, most recently as a maintenance specialist in the Jackson office. He has held various positions in the maintenance division during his career.

Drs. Walter A. Schroeder Jr. and William D. Stahr have completed a research paper, "Malignant Neoplastic Disease of the Parotid Lymph Nodes," which was presented at the 1998 meeting of the American Laryngological, Rhinogological and Otological Society, also known as the Triological Society.

Schroeder made the presentation of the paper, which is under editorial review for possible publication.

More than 140 physicians attended the Society's meeting, held at Minneapolis.

David Holshouser has been named "Employee of the Year" at the Missouri Veterans Home.

Holshouser was one of 12 employees of the month selected by co-workers.

He received his Employee of Year honor during the recent employee recognition dinner, held at the Veterans home.

Debra Willis Hamilton of Cape Girardeau has been appointed assistant executive director of East Missouri Action Agency Inc. at the Cape Girardeau office.

The community action agency serves eight counties. Hamilton will be the leader of the Cape Girardeau team.

Hamilton has served as shelter manger for the Safehouse for Women in Cape Girardeau the past four years. She previoulsy worked for the City of Cape Girardeau and the Humane Society of Southeast Missouri.

Hamilton, a Michigan native, is a graduate of Cape Central High School and attend Southeast Missouri State University and Cape Girardeau Vocational Technical School.

Michelle Chiles and Jaime Barker have joined the staff at Select-A-Style beauty salon, 204 W. Washington, Jackson.

Chiles has been a hairstylist more than seven years. She specializes in hair extensions.

Barker has been a stylist three years, She specializes in hair cutting, perms, manicures and pedicures.

Doris Jean Arnold, Jane Clark and Birdie Rader, of Century 21 Key Realty were recently honored as "Centurion Sales Associated" in the Century 21 Midwest Region. Arnold was also inducted into the Master Club Diamond Level for her performance over the past three years. Agents must produce $150,000 in gross closed commissions for the Centurion award.

Other Century 21 Key Realty agents honored were Trudy Brandt and Shirley Gregory, to President's Club, for more than $90,000 in gross closed commissions.

Century 21 Key Realty received the Quality Service Award for outstanding performance and was honored as a Centurion Office. Recipients received their honors during a recent meeting held at Harrah's in St. Louis.

Arnold, Brandt and Rader also recently completed the Century 21 Commercial Investment Training Seminar on Multi-Family Marketing, which was conducted recently at O'Fallon, Ill.

Marilyn Duffey, of Prudential Bridgeport Inc. Realtors, has been named to the Prudential Real Estate Affiliates Inc. Leading Edge Society, Residential for 1997.

Sales associates who qualify for the Leading Edge award place in the top 5 percent of the Prudential Real Estate Network.

Duffey was recognized during a special awards ceremonies at Prudential Real Estate's annual international business conference, held in Las Vegas.

Duffey joined the real estate field in 1980 and joined Prudential Bridgeport Inc. in 1987. She won the Summit Award for excellence in 1996 and 1997 and is a lifetime member of the Multi-Million Dollar Club, awards presented by the Missouri Association of Realtors.

Charles Kruse, Missouri Farm Bureau president, and a Dexter farmer, has been appointed to the Agriculture Technical Advisory Committee for Trade in Grains, Feed and Oilseeds.

Kruse's appointment was announced by U.S. Agriculture Secretary Dan Glickman and U.S. trade representative Charlene Barshefsky.

The feed and oilseed committee, which provides private sector input to ensure U.S. trade policy and trade negotiations to the USDA, consists of 29 people representing U.S. grain crops and production.

Timothy Caldwell, Country Companies agent, has qualified for the insurance group's "All American" teams for his accomplishments in 1997.

Caldwell is one of 188 agents and agency managers to qualify for the award. The Country Companies have more than 1,100 agents and agency managers in 10 states.

The All American awards is for achievements in sales and service.

Caldwell's office is on Front Street in Tamms, Ill. The Country Companies offer life, auto, home, farm, health, disability and commerce insurance, and annuities.

Barry Blue of Dana Corp. and Wally Jones and Alan Crenshaw of Lone Star Industries have received "Certificates of Completions" from the SEMO Regional Industrial Training Group.

The students completed 348 hours of training in nine electronic classes.

The curriculum was designed by 12 local industries that make up the membership of the training group.

The industries, which make up the membership, are Arkansas/SEMO District Council of Carpenters, Biokyowa, Bloomsdale Excavating Co., Dana, Golden Cat, Foamex, Gregory Construction, K&K Electric, Lee-Rowan, Lone Star, M&W Packaging and Procter & Gamble Paper Products.

Employees from these companies participated in courses offered through the Cape Girardeau Area Vocational Technical School.

More than 100 employees are enrolled in courses. Employees may select programs of studies in mechanical, electronics or electrical maintenance.

Businessman Stephen C. Bradford of Hayti has been named to the Missouri Transportation Finance Corp.'s board of directors, a state transportation financing corporation.

MTFC uses federal transportation funds allotted by the Missouri Department of Transportation for loans or other assistance to local groups to develop transportation improvements more quickly.

Bradford, executive vice president of the Pyramid Group, a group of companies providing health care services, will fill one two new positions for directors not affiliated with MoDOT. He will serve a two-year term.

Bradford served as commissioner of the Missouri Office of Administration from 1977 to 1982.

Eleven Dana Corp. employees have attended an "in-house" class, QS-9000, which relates to the business management system.

Attending were Pat Hagan, Chuck Thurman, Richard Sanders, Art Didion, Brenda Lair, Beth James, Rick Knight, Brian Debrock, Bob Beahan, Duane Wlster and Bill Large.
