Glenn Rose has been named acting general manager at KBSI-TV, a Fox affiliate at Cape Girardeau.
Rose joined KBSI-TV six months ago and has served as sales manager.
Sinclair Broadcast Group Inc., a multi-station radio and TV broadcast company headquartered in Baltimore, agreed in December to buy the radio and televison stations of Max Media Properties, L.L.C., which includes KBSI-TV and WDKA-TV in Paducah, Ky.
Joe Mazza, vice president and general manager of Fox 23 KBSI-TV since July 1995, has taken a leave of absence from the company.
Bill Doan of Jackson has joined Capaha Bank as an assistant vice president.
Doan had spent four years as vice president and branch manager for Farm Credit Services in Jackson and Advance. He has extensive experience in agriculture and Agribusiness operations.
Doan is a graduate of Southern Illinois University-Carbondale, with a degree in Agribusiness economics. He also has an associate degree in applied science in agriculture business from Wabash Valley College in Mount Carmel, Ill.
Doan's duties will include agriculture lending. He will also serve consumers with residential and commercial lending needs. He will be based in the Tamms, Ill., office. The bank also has offices at Cape Girardeau and Cairo, Ill.
Magna-Tel Inc. President Mary Ann Farmer has been named to the board of directors of Promotional Products Association International. Magna-Tel Inc. is a corporation specializing in promotional products.
Farmer, who also is Magna-Tel's chief executive officer, has a master's degree as an advertising specialist designation and has been involved in the promotional products industry for 13 years.
She serves as promotional association's board liaison of the advertising and public relations committee and is an ambassador for the association's speakers bureau. She is also a member of CAS/MAS Alumni Association and of the Young Executives of the Promotional Products Association, and serves on the board of Promotional Products Continuing Education Foundation.
She is a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University, with a bachelor's degree in education.
The PPA, founded in 1904, represents more than 6,000 supplier and distributor companies of promotional products and services.
Mrs. and Mrs. Mark S. Kasten, of Rental Land Inc., 1922 Independent, recently attended the American Rental Association's 42nd annual national convention and rental equipment show at Orlando, Fla.
Representatives from more than 2,000 rental stores attended the annual convention.
The ARA, headquartered in Moline, Ill., is an international trade association of more than 6,000 rental store owners and equipment suppliers in the United States, Canada and 13 other countries.
The convention featured seminars, hands-on workshops, and display of products and equipment.
Dr. Zenon Duda attended the 10th annual St. Louis podiatry seminar recently.
Seminar topics included drug management of diabetic neuropathy, joint disease, osteoporosis and other conditions.
Duda also attended surgical workshops at the seminar.

Kirt Cochran, Cape Girardeau County Farm Bureau insurance agent, has achieved membership in the Missouri Farm Bureau Insurance Co.'s Million Dollar Club.
Cochran received the designation during the company's all-star sales conference, held recently at Tan-Tar-A Resort at Osage Beach.

Harley has been in the business six years and is a graduate of the Stage One the Beauty School in Cape Girardeau.
Two Missourians, including a Cape Girardeau woman, were recently selected as "Visitors in Paducah" of the month at Paducah, Ky.
Phyllis Thomure of Cape Girardeau and Sharon Tricamo of Imperial, received a VIP lapel pin, a complimentary dinner, free hotel rooms, a basket of Paducah goodies and a gift certificate to Kentucky Oaks Mall.
The VIP program is sponsored by the Paducah Hospitality Association, Paducah McCracken County Convention and Visitors Bureau, Paducah Ambassadors and participating motels and restaurants.
The special program is designed to extend a "welcome" to overnight guests at motels and restaurants. Recipients are selected once a month at a predetermined time and site. Thomure and Tricamo received rooms at Drury Inn and dinner at O'Charley's Restaurant.

The accomplishment required completing extensive product knowledge and sales skills training and maintaining high customer satisfaction.
Blumenberg and Simmons are employed at Auffenberg Chrysler Supercenter, a Chrysler, Plymouth, Dodge, Dodge Truck and Jeep dealership at 611 S. Kingshighway in the Cape Girardeau AutoPark.
Blumenberg has been certified each year since 1992 and has received Gold-Level certification three consecutive years. Simmons has been certified five years.
