Marchi joins Hahs Agency as financial rep
Christopher S. Marchi of Jackson, Mo., has joined the Hahs Agency in Cape Girardeau as a financial representative for Northwestern Mutual Financial Network.
Marchi will provide personal, business and estate planning products such as life insurance, disability income insurance, long-term health care insurance, annuities and mutual funds.
Before joining Northwestern Mutual, Marchi worked as a sales representative for Goedecke construction Supply Co. in St. Louis.
"Marchi will be a valuable addition to the Hahs Agency team," said T. Ronald Hahs of the Hahs Agency.
The Hahs Agency serves Southeast Missouri through offices in Cape Girardeau, Sikeston and Farmington. Northwestern Mutual's sales force is ranked number in the country among all industries by Sales land Marketing Management Magazine.
Ridenour promoted to vice president of BART
Marcia Ridenour has been promoted to vice president/general manager of Bootheel Area Rapid Transportation (BART), which has headquarters in Cape Girardeau.
Ridenour's appointment was announced recently by Ray Duffey, BART President.
Ridenour has been with BART 12 years. She has served as manager since 1997. She will have added responsibility for BART's operations from locations in Cape Girardeau, Carbondale and Springfield/Decatur areas. BART Transportation provides luxury van shuttle service to the St. Louis Airport from these areas.
The service was founded in Cape Girardeau in 1987. BART operates 19 vans from the various locations, on a 7-day, 24-hour basis.
Stage One graduate joins beauty salon
Mandy Lee of Puxico, Mo., has joined Marilyn's Beauty Salon, 125 N. Main Street in downtown Cape Girardeau.
Lee, a graduate of Stage One The Hair School in Cape Girardeau, has four years of experience in the beauty industry. She specializes in hair color.
Two join management team at Sidetracks
David Rouse and Chad Henson, both of Jackson, Mo., have joined the new management team at Sidetracks, a family-oriented restaurant with a sports theme, located at 252 E. Jackson Blvd., in Jackson.
Donnie Harris, owner of the restaurant which specializes in barbecue items and homemade soups, announced the appointments recently.
Rouse, who will head the new management team, previously worked at Tractors restaurant and Outback Steakhouse.
The restaurant includes a game room for parents and children, outside deck, and karaoke events after 9 p.m. Thursday and Saturday. The restaurant also includes giant TVs for sporting events, including Monday Night Football.
Three complete audit seminar in St. Louis
Connie K. Brown, CPA, CVA; Cheryl A. Morris, CPA; and Howard J. Poston, CPA, all with Schott & Van de Ven, Certified Public Accountants recently completed an audit seminar. The seminar focused on "Workpaper Techniques for Government and Nonprofit Organizations" and was held in St. Louis. The accountants learned effective strategies in preparing workpapers that are required in government and nonprofit audits.
Brown is the audit manager for the firm and supervises audits of cities, counties and several nonprofit organizations in Southeast Missouri. Brown, Morris and Poston are graduates of Southeast Missouri State University and have 28 years of combined experience in public accounting.
Schott & Van de Ven is a full-service public accounting firm located at 1020 N. Kingshighway, Suite D, Cape Girardeau. Founded in 1959, the firm has satellite offices in Marble Hill, Missouri and Marion, Ill.
Work Investment Board has two new members
Scott L. Moore, human resource supervisor for Good Humor-Breyers Ice Cream at Sikeston, Mo., and Karen Beck, administrator of Health Facilities Rehab Services at Sikeston, are the newest members of the Workforce Investment Board (WIB) of Southeast Missouri.
Moore and Beck will fill two vacancies created with the resignations of Louis Griffin and Gay St. Mary-Williams and will serve two-year terms as Scott County representatives to the board.
The WIB will meet Sept. 18 at the Drury Lodge in Cape Girardeau.
Number of promotions at Just Kids center
A number of promotions have been announced by Just Kids Learning Development Center, LLC, which has headquarters at Jackson, Mo.
Branda Abernathy has been named director at the Main Street location in Jackson, with Marie Ruessler and Michelle Birk serve as co-assistant directors.
Rose Kincy has been named senior director of the Rosamound Street location in Jackson.
Martha Denson is new director at the Just Kids location in Cape Girardeau, and Sheila Armbruster is new director at Just Kids in Sikeston, with Alice Henry serving as center assistance.
Family Eye center has new assistant
Annette Voelker has joined Family Eye Center, 3019 William, as assistant to Dr. Troy Bell, new owner of the operation which was formerly a Horner Rausch branch.
Voelker was previously associated with Regional Eye Care Center for 15 years.
Other new employees at the Family Eye Care Center include Pam Brown, an ABOC certified optician, and Michelle Hoskins.
2001 graduate joins veterinarian staff
Dr. Kristi McCullough, a veterinarian, has joined the staff at Meller James & Associates Veterinary Service, in Anna.
McCullough, a native of Taylorville, Ill., is a 2001 graduate of the University of Illinois Veterinary College. She did her undergraduate work at Creighton University in Omaha, Neb.
