The Cape Girardeau post office is looking for volunteers to establish a local Consumer Advisory Council, according to a news release from the United States Postal Service.
The Consumer Advisory Council will provide a forum for USPS customers to express concerns, ideas and suggestions to postal officials, the release said. At the forums, postal managers will be available to answer questions, clarify postal rules, regulations and procedures, discuss and resolve service problems and inform council members of new and changing postal services and programs, according to the release.
An organizational meeting regarding the Consumer Advisory Council will be at 5:30 p.m. Jan. 16, and Cape Girardeau acting postmaster JaNan O'Brien will be in attendance to answer questions and provide Consumer Advisory Council applications. Applications also will be available at the main Cape Girardeau post office, 475 Kell Farm Drive.
