A number of Missouri communities have received awards for downtown revitalization efforts.

Seven communities received awards in 10 categories at the Missouri Main Street and Commercial Revitalization Conference, held at the Capitol Plaza Hotel in Jefferson City.

Sedalia, Mo., received four awards, including the Show Me Award for its preservation incentive program, and facade renovations projects. Also receiving awards were Springfield, for a streetscape project; Kirksville, for newsletter; and Lexington for its special 175-year celebration. Other communities recognized were Florissant, Clarksville, and Clinton. Cape Girardeau and Old Town Cape, which operates the city's Main Street program, was represented at the conference.
