LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Humana Inc., one of the country's biggest health maintenance organizations, will eliminate up to 5 percent of its work force to help counter disappointing profits.
Humana, which covers health care benefits for 4.8 million people in 22 states, said that 700 to 900 of its 18,000 jobs will be cut this year.
The move is part of a reorganization the company began last year.
