Southwestern Bell has made a $1,000 investment in the Southeast Missouri State University Small Business Development Center.

The funds will be used to further develop international trade and help businesses tap into the global marketplace, said Buz Sutherland, the center director.

The center is a cooperative effort of the university, the U.S. Small Business Administration and a coalition of utility companies, municipalities and financial institutions. It is part of a statewide network of 10 regional full-service centers, seven satellite centers and 14 university extension business and industry specialists, which provide new and existing businesses with management assistance, financial structure, marketing and technology.
