Unaudited net earnings were $219,057,000, up 18 percent from the $170,582,000 during the last fiscal year. Revenues for the year were $1.7 billion, versus $1.5 billion last year. Earnings per share rose to $3.36, compared to $2.65 a year ago.

Net earning were up during the final quarter, to $59.4 million, on revenues of $456.4 million. During the same period a year ago, earnings were $48.9 million on revenues of $405.2 million.
Benjamin F. Edwards III, chairman and chief executive officer, said the company was pleased with the financial results.
A.G. Edwards added 33 new offices during the year. The financial services company operates 569 offices in the United States. The Cape Girardeau office is at 97 N. Kingshighway.
