The bank operates facilities in seven cities -- Poplar Bluff, Van Buren, Dexter, Malden, Kennett, Doniphan and Ellington.
Donald R. Crandell, president of the bank, said the name change and corresponding change in the charter will allow Southern Missouri to offer additional products and services.
