Mean Gene's Burgers, which opened recently at the Rhodes-101 at 497 Highway 77 in Chaffee, is named after Mean Gene Okerlund, a professional wrestling broadcaster.

Mean Gene's Burgers is a partnership between Gene Okerlund and Orion Food Systems of Sioux Falls, S.D.

Orion, a franchiser of foods in the convenience industry, has more than 2,000 outlets in the United States. Orion also offers a portfolio, which includes Hot Stuff Pizza, Smash Hit Subs, Cinnamon Street Baker, MacGregor's Market and others.

Mean Gene's at Chaffee is inside the Rhodes service station-convenience store. Mean Gene Okerlund appeared at the grand opening recently.
