Fruit tree pruning and a small fruit production workshop will be held Tuesday.
Horticulturists from the Missouri Fruit Experiment Station in Mountain Grove will demonstrate the proper way to prune peach, apple, pear and cheery trees at the Tony Altom Orchard, starting at 1:30 p.m.
Altom's orchard is near the Meadow Heights High School on Highway 72. The workshop will be held regardless of weather.
Topics at the small fruit workshop will include selecting a site for small fruit production, marketing techniques, pest management and cultural practices.
A panel of local small fruit growers will conduct the workshop, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the University Extension office in Jackson.
