Brooks Fiber Properties, a nationwide provider of competitive local telecommunications services, plans to invest $40 million in the building and operation of a new fiber optic network in the Kansas City area.
The new network will operate under the name of Brooks Fiber Communications and will compete with the services of Southwestern Bell. The network will bring to 26 the number of U.S. metropolitan networks operating or under construction by Brooks Fiber.
