Associated Electric Cooperative Inc. (AECI) and KAMO Power have announced plans for a 530-megawatt, gas-fired combustion turbine power plant in Northeast Oklahoma at a cost of $220 million.
The new plant, scheduled for operation in the year 2000, will be in Mayes County, near Chouteau, Okla.
AECOI, which operates coal-fifed power plants at Thomas Hill and New Madrid, provides wholesale power to six regional and 51 local electric cooperatives in Missouri, northeastern Oklahoma and southeastern Iowa.
