BUSINESS MEMO: A.G. EDWARDS RANKS NO. 1

A.G. Edwards & Sons Inc. was ranked number one among the 10 largest full-service, investment firms in a recent survey conducted by the national Council of Individual Investors (NCII).

The survey included evaluations on commissions and fees, investment performances, services and disciplinary history.

A.G. Edwards, headquartered at St. Louis, has more than 5,700 investment brokers and 530 offices nationwide, including a branch at Cape Girardeau.

Merrill Lynch and Edward D. Jones, which also have offices in Cape Girardeau, finished second and fourth respectively in the survey. Everen finished third in the survey.
