The local contest in the American Advertising awards competition is the first leg of a three-tiered national competition, conducted annually by the American Advertising Federation.

Local winners will advance to district, then national competition.
The competition was open to people, companies and organizations engaged in the creation of advertising and marketing last year in the Paducah in Kentucky, Cape Girardeau and the Harrisburg and Mount Vernon areas in Illinois.
