Lyn Muzzy, director of the Cape Girardeau Convention & Visitors Bureau, has been elected secretary of the Missouri Travel Council.
Other officers of the organization are Carla Schnelt, Schnelt's Family Farm, St. James, president; Marty Asel, Jefferson City Convention & Visitors Bureau, first vice president; Rose Ann Hoffstetter, National Bowling Hall of Fame, St. Louis, second vice president; Gail Myer, Best Western Knights Inn, Branson, treasurer; and Donna Costellia, St. Charles Convention & Visitors Bureau, treasurer-elect.
The Missouri Travel Council and Missouri Division of Tourism recently held a two-day educational conference in Branson.
Muzzy also attended the 1992 National Tour Association Spring Tour and Travel Exchange in Tulsa, Okla.
More than 50 professional development seminars were conducted during the four-day event.
The association has membership of more than 575 tour companies, 2,100 travel industry supply companies, and 750 destination marketing groups, including state tourism offices, convention and visitor bureaus, and chambers of commerce.

Baseball Hall of Famer Stan Musial will headline a satellite seminar to be presented by representatives of Edward D. Jones & Co. on April 28.
"We will host a series of seminars over the next several months for area retirees," said Bob Etherton, Edward D. Jones representative in Cape Girardeau. "Each program will be broadcast live from our firm's St. Louis television studio. We're thrilled to have someone like Stan Musial for our first conference."
Sessions for retirees will be presented at 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. A special session for news media will be held at 12:05 p.m.

Musial played outfield and first base for the St. Louis Baseball Cardinals from 1941 to 1963, won seven National League batting titles, and had a lifetime batting average of .331.
The second Edward D. Jones broadcast will be held July 7, and will feature an election-year update from a member of the Senate Select Committee on Aging. Third on the list of broadcasts will be a discussion of investment strategies for retirees on Aug. 25.

CyberTel Cellular phone service is now available in Poplar Bluff.
CyberTel operates a retail sales and service office at 500 N. Kingshighway, and has a facility at West Park Mall.
CyberTel is the first cellular telephone carrier to provide service to areas of Cape Girardeau, Perryville and Sikeston. It is the only carrier to extend coverage to Poplar Bluff.

The St. Francis Medical Center laboratory has received accreditation by the Commission on Laboratory Accreditation of the College of American Pathologists (CAP).
The accreditation is based on results of a recent on-site inspection.
The laboratory is one of more than 4,200 CAP-accredited laboratories nationwide.

Dial-A-Page, Inc. will host an open house at its Cape Girardeau office, Suite 6, 121 S. Broadview, on Tuesday.
It will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The event is open to the public, and will feature door prizes and refreshments as well as a tour of the facility.
The official ribbon cutting ceremony by the Chamber of Commerce will start at 10 a.m. Jim Johnson and Mike Wilkins, co-owners of the company, will attend.
