Larry Shafer, marketing representative with the Cape Girardeau Post Office, will be guest speaker at the Professional Secretaries International meeting March 17.
Shafer will discuss the new automated mail-processing system during the 6:30 p.m. meeting at Drury Lodge.
Shafer is a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University with majors in computer science and electronics. He has been with the Postal Service for 11 years.

MARION, Ill. Kmart will construct a new building at Marion this year.
The 86,000-square-foot building will include a pharmacy, expanded garden shop and restaurant, said Michelle DeLand, a spokesperson for the Troy, Mich.-based corporation.
DeLand said she was unable to provide any additional information concerning the site of the store.
"I just know we're building there," she said. "The location listed on the schedule is Illinois Route 13."
The Kmart announcement follows announcement last week that a Steak 'n' Shake would be built at Marion. The 96-seat restaurant will be built at the corner of Walton Way and Illinois 13, and is expected to open in late May. A ground-breaking was held at the site Monday.
Kroger grocery also announced during the past week that it would build a larger store at Marion.
Marion is home to the Illinois Centre, which opened last in 1991.

The Farm & Home Financial Corporation Board of Directors has declared dividends for the first quarter of 1992. Dividends will be payable March 31 to holders of record on March 6.
Dividends for classes of stock include 7.5 cents per share for common; 15 cents for Series B and C Preferred, and 32 cents for Series D and E Preferred.
Farm & Home is a $3.6 billion holding company whose principal subsidiary is Farm & Home Savings Association headquartered at Nevada, Mo.

Bill Hodges, president of Albrecht/Hodges, received the award during a recent meeting held by Cameron Mutual.
Cameron, which has been in the Albrecht/Hodges Agency since 1956, provides homeowners, auto, farm, commercial and life insurance in Missouri, Iowa and Arkansas.
