DEXTER -- Jon Cozean of Cozean Funeral Home in Farmington has been elected president of the Southeast Missouri Funeral Directors Association.
Cozean and other officers were elected during the organization's annual Christmas party at Dexter earlier this month.
Other officers include: Bob Hedgepeth, Richards Funeral Home, New Madrid, vice president; Steve Watkins, Watkins Funeral Home, Dexter, secretary-treasurer; Ted Boyer, Boyer Funeral Home, Bonne Terre, chairman of the group's political action committee; and John E. Carpenter, Lorberg Memorial Funeral Chapel, Cape Girardeau, district director.

The Joplin Chiropractic Clinic is moving to a new office.
The clinic, at 1858 Broadway since 1985, will open at 201 S. Spanish on Monday.
The clinic was originally at the Spanish Street address when the practice was purchased by Dr. Timothy S. Joplin.

PADUCAH, Ky. Wal-Mart Stores Inc., headquartered in Bentonville, Ark., will start construction of a Supercenter store in Paducah this month.
The 193,000-square-foot store, which will include a grocery department, will be near the intersection of U.S. Route 60 and Holt Road, across from Kentucky Oaks Mall.
The store, expected to open in late 1992, will be the seventh Supercenter for Wal-Mart. Besides groceries, the store will have garden and auto centers.
A Supercenter will open in Cape Girardeau early this year.

The JCPenney Styling Salon in West Park Mall achieved million-dollar status for 1991.
The Cape Girardeau salon is ranked 21st among the company's 950 salons.
Susan Sanders of Pensacola, Fla., a customer at the local salon, received a dozen red roses and a $50 shopping spree when her individual purchase put the salon over the million-dollar mark on Dec. 28.
The salon, which opened in June 1981, has a staff consisting of 45 hairdressers and three receptionists.

"Teaching in the Trenches" is the topic of a Missouri League for Nursing workshop to be held in Cape Girardeau May 6.
The daylong workshop, to be held at Drury Lodge, is designed to provide knowledge and resources for creating effective teaching environments to nurses who teach nurse assistants.
