The sixth annual reunion for employees of the former Jackson Hosiery Mill will be held Sept. 11 at Cape County Park Shelter No. 20.
People attending the reunion, which starts at 11 a.m., should bring a basket dinner lunch, beverage and table service.
"They should also bring any old photographs of the plant's operation," said a spokesperson for the event.

Hutson's Furniture Store and Furniture Fair will start closing Mondays on Sept. 13.
"We closed each Monday for more than 15 years," said Charles Hutson. "But about two years ago we made a decision to open Monday. We recently decided to go back to our original Monday closing."
Hutson said the two downtown stores would remain open until 8 p.m. Thursdays and until 5:30 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays Fridays and Saturdays. The stores open at 9 a.m. each day.
"There is an exception to the Monday closing," said Hutson. "We will remain open on major holidays that fall on Monday."

More than 50 bus tour operators were in Cape Girardeau last week.
The local Convention and Visitors Bureau hosted the Missouri Division of Tourism Showcase, which is on a 10-day tour of the state.
The reception was held at Black Forest. On hand for the session were CVB Advisory Board members, entertainment groups, and crafters.
"Fifty-five tour operators from all parts of the U.S. and Canada were in the visiting group," said Mary Miller, CVB director.

The Cape Girardeau Convention and Visitors Bureau will hold an open house at its new quarters in October. Details will be announced.

Branson, a town of 3,700 in Southwest Missouri, has zero percent vacancy in the office market, and hotel vacancies are almost non-existent.
Branson, which now has more than 34 country music theaters to go along with the Silver Dollar theme park, hosts millions of visitors each year.
The community also fuels growth in a nearby metropolitan area, Springfield, which reports 62.4 percent hotel occupancy for the year, with very few vacancies during the summer months. Some hotels reported 88 to 92 percent occupancy for 1992.
Springfield, a city of more than 135,000, is about 40 miles north of Branson.
