JACKSON -- The Jackson Chamber of Commerce will hold an open house at the chamber office at 125 E. Main Monday.

"The Jackson Jaycees, which is observing its 35 anniversary, will host the February meeting," said chamber President Steve Popp. "The Jaycees will present a display of memorabilia collected over the years."

The open house begins at 5 p.m.

Chick-fil-A Inc., the nation's third-largest quick-service chicken restaurant company, had record sales for 1992.

The Atlanta-based firm announced sales of more than $356 million, 10 percent higher than 1991 sales. It marked the 25th consecutive year that sales have increased.

Chick-fil-A, with a restaurant in West Park Mall in Cape Girardeau, has more than 48 restaurants in 31 states.

Auto Tire & Parts recently awarded more than $1,000 in U.S. savings bonds during a ticket drawing at a Southeast Missouri State University basketball game.

Garrett Broshuis was winner of a $500 bond; Daren Barnes received a $250 bond; Janet Watkins was winner of a $150 bond; and Tyler Kinder received a $100 bond.

Auto Tire & Parts operates 15 stores in Southeast Missouri and Southern Illinois.

ULLIN, Ill. The University of Illinois Cooperative Extension Service will open an Extension office at Shawnee Community College near Ullin, Ill., next month.

A special ribbon-cutting ceremony featuring Shawnee College President Jack Hill and UI Cooperative Extension Service Director Don Uchtmann will be held March 17 at 3:30 p.m. at the college.

The new office will serve Alexander, Johnson, Massac, Pulaski and Union counties.

ST. LOUIS Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Missouri has moved to new headquarters at 1831 Chestnut in St. Louis. The move started Feb. 5, and was completed Feb. 16.

PERRYVILLE Robinson Construction Co. of Perryville has implemented a total quality management program.

Frank Robinson, president of the firm, announced the program, titled "Excellence in Construction," during a recent employee meeting.

The objective of the program, said Robinson, is to improve quality and customer satisfaction through a process of continuous improvement and employee involvement.

"Our employees are our most valuable asset, and this program will allow them to be involved in the decisions that affect the overall quality of the company and our relationship with our customers and suppliers," said Robinson.
