POPLAR BLUFF -- Briggs & Stratton, a manufacturer of air-cooled gasoline engines for outdoor power equipment, has observed two landmarks at its Poplar Bluff facility.n Briggs & Stratton, which opened its Southeast Missouri facility in October 1989, observed its 10th anniversary at Poplar Bluff.n The company also celebrated the production of its 25th million small engine during the decade span.

The Poplar Bluff plant is the first to hit 25 million in 10 years. Forty percent of the engines made at the Poplar Bluff plant are exported.

The company assembles engines five days a week, producing 14,000 engines a day.
