Celebrations restaurant wins national honors
Celebrations Restaurant and Bar, 615 Bellevue St., has been honored with the 2006 Wine Spectator Restaurant Award of Excellence. Only 3,772 restaurants worldwide were honored with this distinction. To qualify for the program, a restaurant's wine list must present complete, accurate wine information. All award winners appear in the Aug. 31 issue of Wine Spectator. This is the fourth consecutive year Celebrations has won the award of excellence. James and Pat Allen are the owners of the restaurant.
Laura Hovis of Cape Girardeau won $5,000 in furniture from Ashley Furniture in Jackson July 29. This was the last of the three drawings the furniture store held.
Southeast Missouri Hospital is one of only five hospitals in Missouri and one of 173 hospitals in the United States that has been recognized for complying with "Get With the Guidelines," a quality-improvement program created by the American Heart Association and the American Stroke Association. The program helps ensure that the care hospitals provide for coronary artery disease, stroke and heart failure is aligned with the latest scientific guidelines. Southeast received a performance achievement award for 90 consecutive days of 85 percent adherence to performance measures. At Southeast, the program focused on heart attack patients.
