Cape Girardeau Public Schools

Proposition Y, a $12 million Cape Girardeau Public Schools bond, passed overwhelmingly with 61.8 percent approval from voters on April 2. The bond will finance a wide range of building projects, including an aquatic center. On March. 21, former Cape Girardeau mayors Harry Rediger and Jay Knudtson announced a commitment of $1.5 million from an anonymous donor to be used as matching funds toward the aquatic facility outlined in Proposition Y.

Element 74

Element 74, a digital production company, recently secured contracts with The Domestic Violence Coalitions for the states of Illinois and North Carolina, as well as the Sexual Assault Coalitions for the states of Mississippi and Pennsylvania. The agreements will include the deployment and support of Element 74's Coalition Manager software platform, an enterprise-level software solution that collects mission-critical data and reports on organizational outcomes pertaining to domestic violence and sexual assault services at both the state and national levels. Element 74 is now contracted with 20 state and federal organizations to provide Coalition Manager and ongoing custom development services.

Apex Paving Co./Delta Companies Inc.

Apex Paving Co., a subsidiary of the Delta Companies Inc., won a 2018 Larry H. Lemon Quality in Construction Award for excellence in construction of an asphalt pavement. The company received its award in January at a ceremony during the National Asphalt Pavement Association's (NAPA) 64th annual meeting in Marco Island, Florida.
