Brown's bond was set at $500,000.

Reward set for arson information

Southeast Missourian

A Cape Girardeau property owner is offering a $2,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person who may have attempted to set fire to a nine-unit apartment building at 2039 Perryville Road.

Jesse Hall, who owns the property, said it has been determined that the fire that started in a garage at that address was intentionally set. He said a neighbor across the street discovered the fire around 6 a.m. Wednesday and called the fire department. The neighbor also noticed a gas can nearby that was not there when firefighters arrived, Hall said.

Hall said he hopes anyone who might have seen anything that may lead to the arrest of the possible arsonist will call the police department, 335-6621. Information will be kept confidential.
