Cape Girardeau police responded to multiple incidents including five warrant arrests, a domestic assault, firearm thefts, property damage, and animal bites. The county sheriff reported several arrests for driving offenses and firearm possession.

• Unlawful use of a weapon, shooting at/from motor vehicle at person, motor vehicle or building and first-degree harassment were reported on Whitener Street.

• Second-degree property damage was reported on Park Drive.

• First-degree trespassing was reported on Hackberry Street.

• First-degree property damage, unlawful use of a weapon, discharging into home, motor vehicle or other transportation method and armed criminal action were reported on South Ellis Street.

• Leaving the scene of an accident was reported on Siemers Drive.

• Leaving the scene of an accident was reported on Armstrong Drive.

• Second-degree property damage was reported.

• An animal bite was reported on Lacey Street.

• Nuisance/inoperable vehicle was reported on Whitener Street.

Cape Girardeau County Sheriff’s Office responded to the following calls. Arrests do not imply guilt.

Arrests

• Justin C. Abernathy, 29, of Cape Girardeau was arrested on suspicion of driving while revoked/suspended and exceeding the posted speed limit.

• William R. Geiser, 70, of Dutchtown was arrested on suspicion of unlawful possession of a firearm.

• Jason M. Kirby, 31, of Jackson was arrested on a Miller County warrant for failure to appear for speeding.

• Tykese A. Patton, 19, of St. Louis was arrested on Cape Girardeau County warrant for operating a motor vehicle without maintaining financial responsibility.

• Michael R. Griffin, 49, of Chaffee was arrested on suspicion of first-degree assault and armed criminal action.

• Brandon S. Blagg, 33, of Scott city was arrested on a Cape Girardeau County warrant for failure to appear for driving while intoxicated.
