Police

The Jackson Police Department released the following items. Arrests do not imply guilt.

Arrest

* Teresa D. Daniels, 53, of Pulaski, Ill., was arrested on suspicion of shoplifting and stealing.

Summons

* Brandon S. Arthur, 18, 806 Andrew St., was issued a summons for operating a motor vehicle without a valid license, failing to provide proof of insurance, failing to register his vehicle and failing to yield to a vehicle that has the right of way.

Theft

* Theft was reported in the 3600 block of East Jackson Boulevard.

Miscellaneous

* A court-order violation was reported in the 2000 block of Old Toll Road.

* A court-order violation was reported in the 500 block of South Hope Street.

* Interference with custody was reported.

* A 56-year-old man was taken into protective custody.

* A peace disturbance was reported in the 100 block of Court Street.

* A peace disturbance was reported in the 600 block of West Washington Street.

Fire

The Jackson Fire Department responded to the following calls Wednesday:

* An illegal burn on South Hope Street.

* Emergency medical service on East Main Street.

* Emergency medical service on Kimbel Lane.

* A call to Carolyn Drive.
