A Farmington, Mo., man and a Cape Girardeau man were seriously injured in separate single-vehicle accidents in the region Thursday.
Jess Kuhl, 39, of Farmington was taken to Madison Memorial Hospital in Fredericktown, Mo., after an accident near Patton, Mo., Thursday evening. It occurred at 6:18 p.m., five miles west of Patton on State Highway 72.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Kuhl's vehicle ran off the road and struck a tree head-on.
In the other accident, David Nichols, 39, of Cape Girardeau was seriously injured in an accident on Route W, one mile north of the Cape Girardeau city limits. It occurred at 8:55 p.m.
The patrol said Nichols' vehicle ran of the right side of the road and struck a telephone pole, three junction boxes and trees. He was partially ejected. He was taken to Southeast Missouri Hospital.
