Cape Girardeau

The following items were released by the Cape Girardeau Police Department. Arrests do not imply guilt.

DWIs

  • Robert P. Dorris, of 1338 N. Spanish St., was arrested on suspicion of driving while under the influence of alcohol and no operator's license.
  • Mary J. Clippard, 38, of 1314 W. Cape Rock Drive, No. 83, was arrested on suspicion of driving while under the influence of alcohol.

Arrests

  • Tyrell L. Cook, 26, of Decatur, Ill, was arrested on suspicion of domestic assault, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, unlawful for certain persons to possess concealed firearms.
  • Lawrence V. Wesley, 44, homeless, was arrested on suspicion of sexual abuse, stealing and assault.
  • Christopher M. Johnston, 21, of 45 S. West End Blvd., No. 205, was arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance and four Cape Girardeau warrants for contempt of court for failure to appear for suspended operator's license, driving/suspended and no valid license, contempt of court for failure to appear for possession of alcohol by a minor.
  • A 15-year-old girl was cited into juvenile court on suspicion of being beyond parental control.
  • A suspect is in custody pending filing of formal charges for possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, no driver's license and expired license plates.
  • A suspect is in custody pending filing of formal charges for domestic assault, marijuana possession, drug paraphernalia possession and unlawful possession of a concealable firearm.

Assaults

  • Two domestic assaults were reported.
  • An assault was reported.

Summonses

  • Michelle L. Nichols, of 1110 S. Ranney St., received a summons for improper backing.
  • Benjamin F. Syas, of New Madrid, Mo., received a summons for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended operator's license.
  • Christopher P. Wathen, of 1021 Big Bend Road, received a summons for operating an unlicensed vehicle.
  • Robert P. Dorris, of 1338 N. Spanish St., received a summons for leaving the scene of an accident.
  • Hollie A. Fehr, of Jackson received a summons for failure to show proof of insurance.
  • Sharon R. Ross, 18, of 2 N. Benton St. received a summons for stealing.

Thefts

  • Cotner Electric, 817 S. Mount Auburn Road, reported the theft of a tool kit, battery, generator, dry core bit and assorted tools.
  • Jaspers, 10 S. West End Blvd., reported a theft of liquor.
  • A PlayStation, PlayStation controllers, travel bag, assorted games and a watch were reported stolen at 2834 Themis St.
  • Jaspers, 1008 N. Kingshighway, reported a theft of gasoline.
  • A wallet was reported stolen at 3439 William St.
  • Missouri license plates 344-TWZ were reported stolen at 505 Washington Ave.
  • Rhodes 101, 2109 William St., reported a theft of gasoline.
  • A telephone was reported stolen at 305 Albert St.

Property damage

  • Windows and a flowerpot were reported broken at 1111 Harmony St.
  • A door was reported damaged and a burglary reported at 415 Sheridan Drive.
  • Annie-Em's Antiques & Gifts, 40 N. Main St., reported a concrete flowerpot damaged.

Miscellaneous

  • A peace disturbance was reported.
  • Harrassing phone calls were reported.
  • A blue bicycle was reported found.
  • Animal abuse was reported.
  • A 33-year-old man was taken into protective custody.
  • A 25-year-old man was taken into protective custody.
  • Fraudulent attempt to obtain a controlled substance was reported.
  • A 48-year-old woman was taken into protective custody.
  • An 18-year-old woman was taken into protective custody.
  • Trespassing/peace disturbance was reported.
  • A peace disturbance was reported.

Jackson

  • Benny Benevente Jr., 19, of 403 E. Main St., was arrested on suspicion for driving while intoxicated and speeding.
  • Anthony Avetta, 21, of 124 S. High St., was arrested on suspicion for possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
  • Jeremy D. Voshage, 17, 1004 Greensferry Road, was arrested on suspicion for possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
  • William B. Kaufmann, 18, of 207 Elmwood Blvd., was arrested on suspicion for minor in possession of alcohol.

Assaults

  • An assault was reported in the 1600 block of West Independence Street.
  • An assault was reported in the 300 block of Henderson Street.
  • An assault was reported in the 400 block of Michael Anna Street.

Summonses

  • Geri R. Reid, 44, of 4837 Old Cape Road East received a summons for operating a motor vehicle without a valid license and failure to maintain insurance.
  • William W. Davis, 58, of 724 E. Washington, received a summons for failure to stop for a red signal.
  • Donna L. Copeland, 51, of 310 S. Farmington Road, received a summons for failure to yield and failure to wear a seat belt.
  • Cody D. Barrett, 22, of Marble Hill, Mo., received a summons for failure to register motor vehicle.
  • Bernadette M. Cross, 27, of 155 Mango Circle, received a summons for failure to register motor vehicle.
  • Joshua W. Gills, 17, of 293 Wills Drive, received a summons for failure to yield causing an accident.
