The Cape Girardeau Police reported the following items on Dec. 21. Arrests do not imply guilt.

Arrests

• Natasha Lynn Newton, no age given, no address given, was arrested on suspicion of stealing at Wal-Mart, 3439 William St.
• A suspect was in custody pending formal charges of shoplifting at Wal-Mart, 3439 William St.
• A suspect was in custody pending formal charges of receiving stolen property at 1918 N. Kingshighway.

Summonses

• Brian W. Dempsey, 33, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, was issued a summons for shoplifting at Rhodes, 1126 N. Sprigg St.
• Jeremy Edwards, no age or address given, was issued a summons for possession of marijuana under 35 grams at Broadway and Water Street.
• Nickolas Geiser, no age or address given, was issued a summons for possession of marijuana under 35 grams at Broadway and Water Street.

Assaults

• First-degree assault was reported at the intersection of South Ellis and Hackberry streets.
• Domestic assault was reported.

Thefts

• Two juveniles were cited into juvenile court on suspicion of theft at 1000 S. Silver Springs Road.
• Theft was reported at 612 S. Sprigg St.
• A credit card or letter of credit was reported stolen at Wal-Mart, 3439 William St.
• A credit card or letter of credit was reported stolen at 1444 Luce St.
• Charges of stealing animals and unlawful use of drug paraphernalis were pending against a suspect.

Miscellaneous

• Leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident was reported.
• An animal bite was reported.
• A 32-year-old man was taken into protective custody.
