* At 8:21 a.m., an overheated motor on South Kingshighway.

* At 8:48 a.m., a medical assist on Broadway.

* At 10:59 a.m., a medical assist on Brenda Kay Drive.

* At 11:08 a.m., an emergency medical service rescue event on North Cape Rock Drive.

* At 1:46 p.m., a toxic condition on Melrose Avenue.

* At 2:25 p.m., a medical assist on Linden Street.

The Cape Girardeau Fire Department responded to the following calls Wednesday:

* At 7:25 a.m., a smoke detector activation on Cheetah Lane.

* At 9:13 a.m., steam on Siemers Drive.

* At 3:29 p.m., a call on North Middle Street.

* At 6:20 p.m., a medical assist on North Spanish Street.

* At 6:40 p.m., assist police on Southern Expressway.
