Firefighters responded to the following calls Wednesday:

* At 4:22 a.m., a medical assist on East Cape Rock Drive.

* At 12:27 p.m., a medical assist on South Mount Auburn Road.

* At 3:34 p.m., a system malfunction on South Park Avenue.

* At 4:02 p.m., emergency medical service on Interstate 55.

* At 5:49 p.m., a rescue and emergency medical service incident on North Spanish Street.

* At 6:27 p.m., a medical assist on Koch Avenue.

* At 6:28 p.m., a brush fire on Fourth Street.

* At 7:39 p.m., an outside rubbish fire on North Main Street.

* At 11:01 p.m., a medical assist on South West End Boulevard.
