Weather or Not
In this blog, weather junkies on the Southeast Missourian staff talk about (what else?) the weather. Give us your observations, folk wisdom and Farmers Almanac tales -- it's a weather free for all.
Plenty of white stuff

The sleet has finally turned to snow -- and how! The national radar shows plenty of stuff moving our way from the southwest, so we should see several more hours of snowfall.
One of the computer models projects that we could have over 16 inches of total accumulation from this storm (including what we already have on the ground).
The official forecast for Cape Girardeau County calls for 8-15 inches total accumulation, although some parts of the county might have 8 inches already. With north winds blowing at 10-20 mph, the snow drifts make it hard to get a good handle on the snow depth. The congealed mass of sleet and ice underneath the snow doesn't help either.
