Surprise! Temperature dropped to 33 last night
Fall has certainly arrived. Thanks to the cold front that blew through Saturday afternoon, the temperature was able to plummet to 33°F at the Cape airport last night.
Temperatures are expected to drop into the 30s again tonight, but with calmer winds. This should allow the formation of the F-word (frost), prompting the weather service to issue a Frost Advisory. They warn that "widespread" frost is expected.
As explained by this webpage, the best conditions for frost include a clear night with calm winds and a temperature near freezing. That's the forecast for tonight and possibly tomorrow night.
Now that Old Man Winter is starting to flex his muscles, it's only a matter of time before the first winter storm arrives. Based on the comments and feedback I've received, I'm going with the "Classic" Rock Band theme for this season's Weather or Not Official Winter Storm Dartboard-and-Wild-Guessing Naming System.
Here's the current lineup. I'm still missing an 'X' name, but let's hope we don't need to go that far down the list. I'm not looking forward to Winter Storm Ozzy Osbourne.
