Weather or Not
In this blog, weather junkies on the Southeast Missourian staff talk about (what else?) the weather. Give us your observations, folk wisdom and Farmers Almanac tales -- it's a weather free for all.
What's wrong with this picture?

My co-worker Beth Zaha made a startling discovery when she pulled into her driveway last Friday, Feb. 6.
This black snake was sitting on top of the remaining snow and ice, enjoying some rare winter sunshine.
It must have been a little confused by the strange weather. As cold-blooded animals, snakes can not tolerate cold weather, so they must hibernate throughout the winter. Or, at least, that's what I've always been taught.
Has anybody else seen strange behavior from wildlife during the recent crazy weather?
