Weather or Not
In this blog, weather junkies on the Southeast Missourian staff talk about (what else?) the weather. Give us your observations, folk wisdom and Farmers Almanac tales -- it's a weather free for all.
"Duffman" is likely a dud. Oh, yeah!

Our current weather-maker, Winter Storm "Duffman", is bringing freezing rain and other unpleasantness to the Missouri Bootheel and Western Kentucky, but not Cape Girardeau. The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for areas south of New Madrid.
The precipitation should expand northward tonight and tomorrow, but it appears that the temperature will rise above freezing right around the time that anything significant makes it here. As usual, Mother Nature could pull a fast one and surprise us, but at present "Duffman" looks like a non-event.
Meanwhile, the next system, "Edna", should arrive Friday night. She doesn't look very promising either, although the forecast does call for a 40% chance of rain or snow.
